Encouragement for Luganda Believers

Uganda, often called the “Pearl of Africa,” is home to Luganda speakers, who form a significant part of the nation’s population. While many Ugandans are deeply spiritual, economic challenges and health crises like HIV/AIDS have left many in need of hope and encouragement. Today, we celebrate the power of the gospel to bring light and life to those seeking God’s presence.
The Baganda people, who primarily speak Luganda, have a rich heritage of music, dance, and oral storytelling. These traditions reflect their joy and resilience, even in difficult circumstances. The gospel is spreading in this region, but resources for discipleship and pastoral care remain limited, underscoring the need for programs like THRU the BIBLE to nurture faith.
A powerful story from Lugana speaker, Ambrose:
“I listened to the program all the way from Pallisa and then called your office. I’ve been listening for some time, but I felt the conviction and now wanted to give my life to Jesus. We prayed together, and I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. You connected me with a pastor in Pallisa to help me grow in my salvation walk and continue listening to the Word of God.”
Testimonies like Ambrose’s inspire the local team to press on with their mission. Just one soul won for the kingdom of heaven is worth a great celebration. To God be the glory!
