From despair to divine intervention

Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. -Psalm 55:22
In moments of deep distress, sorrow, and fear, the question of where to turn can be overwhelming, especially if we don’t know the comfort the presence of God can provide. That’s the reality faced by a mother and son in Odisha, India. Here’s their story:
“My name is Prakash. For many years, my mother faced physical abuse from my alcoholic father, leading her to contemplate taking her own life. I didn’t know how to help or what to do. I felt helpless and hopeless. Miraculously, a pastor intervened and shared Psalm 55:2, which gave my mother hope and strength. She began to pray fervently and listen to this program. Over time, my father stopped drinking and abusing her, and both my parents came to know the Lord. Although I didn’t fully grasp what following Christ meant, my parents instilled in me a foundation of church attendance and prayer. At church, our youth group now watches your program and meets weekly to discuss the teaching. This has sparked my deepening interest in understanding the Bible. As a result, I feel called to attend seminary. Supported by a dedicated prayer team, who pray for me daily and guide me in discerning my calling, I continue to study God’s Word and pray for direction. My prayers include you. I ask that the Lord uses you to reach those who need to hear it and bring transform and restoration to many lives.”
Praise God for the power of prayer and the ripple effect His Word has, impacting not only those who study it but also those around them. Let’s pray together:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise that when we cast our cares on You, You will sustain us. We are grateful for Your Word in Prakash’s life and his entire family.
We pray all of us on the Bible Bus find comfort in Your promises and trust in Your ability to help us meet our challenges with courage and confidence. As Your Word goes out, we pray entire families and communities come to You for hope and help. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
God’s Word is breaking through barriers in Afghanistan, come rejoice and pray with us tomorrow as we travel on our knees.
