Learning to approach the Lord with a sincere heart

The story of Cain and Abel is a powerful lesson about the heart behind our offerings and the sincerity with which we approach God. That’s the lesson Ali* in Pakistan recently discovered as he traveled through God’s Word with us. Here’s more of his story:
“Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. I am deeply grateful to God for this wonderful team that provided me with an MP3 device containing THRU the BIBLE’s Urdu programs. As I listened, I learned about the story of Cain and Abel, where both brought gifts to God. While God accepted Abel’s sacrifice, He rejected Cain’s. This taught me that when we approach the Lord with a true and sincere heart, He accepts our offerings and guides us on the path of righteousness. I am sincerely thankful to You for this device and things I am learning about God. Please pray I please Him with my offerings and actions.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace that guides us. Thank You for the lessons about Cain and Abel, especially that You value sincerity and righteousness. Help us to approach You with genuine and open hearts.
Lord, guard us against the temptations that lead us away from You. Give us the strength to overcome sin and to live in a way that pleases You. May our offerings—whether of time, talent, or resources—reflect the pure hearts that are committed to Your righteousness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
