Pray as God Word goes out in “spiritually dark” Taiwan
October 04, 2024
In previous prayer journeys through Taiwan, we hear that many describe the island nation as spiritually dark. With the majority of the population following a blend of Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, and traditional folk religions, we have a lot to pray about. As you spend time with God and pray for His Word to bring light and life to all who live here, focus on these things:
- Pray for peace in political tensions. Ongoing tensions between Taiwan and China continue to create uncertainty and fear. Pray that God will bring hearts of peace to both nations. Ask for leaders to be guided by wisdom, compassion, and a desire for justice over conflict.
- Pray for spiritual freedom. Many in Taiwan are bound by chains of superstition. Ask God to break through these spiritual strongholds, bringing freedom and truth in Jesus’ name.
- Pray for strong churches to influence society. Pray for strong and healthy churches that boldly proclaim God’s Word, and for believers to rise up and influence every sphere of society—government, business, education, and family life. Ask God to empower them to be agents of change in communities across Taiwan.
We’ll pray alongside grieving parents on Monday. Join as we lift up their heartaches and ask for God’s comfort to meet them in their need.
