Praying for former prisoners
September 20, 2024
“I am a mother of three children, and I was arrested for drug trafficking. I suffered a lot in prison. I am ashamed to leave the house. Many here still condemn me, it is only in Jesus I find forgiveness. I am fed by the Word heard on your programs. Please continue.”
It’s not unusual for many people who are released from prison to face discrimination and difficulty as they re-enter community life with others. Today as you pray for this listener, pray for all our formerly incarcerated brothers and sisters to be welcomed back into faith communities with grace and love. Pray they receive compassion and succeed in working hard to mend and strengthen severed relationships. Ask God to provide them with spiritual mentors who will help them navigate the roads that lead to productive and godly living.
God’s Word is going out in the Middle East. Be there for the journey next week as we pray it finds fertile ground.
