A prayer for the lonely
September 03, 2024
Significant health challenges have kept Violeta, a fellow THRU the BIBLE listener in Bulgaria, at home and away from church more often than she’d like. At first, she was lonely, but as she studied God’s Word something began to change. Here’s her story:
“My health was deteriorating, and I became home bound. Spending days alone, I began to despair. On Sundays I very much missed the fellowship of my church. Then a friend suggested I listen to your program. In the detailed explanations and thoughtful commentary, I found solace and strength. Each lesson felt as if it was spoken directly to me. Not only did I find comfort to face my health issues with greater resilience, but I also deepened my relationship with God. As I finished one program, I immediately jumped to the next. The messages are so engaging and interesting to me. I was spiritually nourished and found a sense of direction and purpose.”
Praise God His Word meets us at our point of need. Pray for those on the Bible Bus who struggle with loneliness. Like Violeta, let’s ask Him to use His Word to fill their days with meaning.
Father, thank You for Your constant presence in our lives. Even when we feel that no one understands us or that we are all by ourselves, we are grateful for Your Spirit who comforts us. Remind us that it is in these quiet moments that we often hear Your voice the clearest. Help us to embrace the stillness and find joy in Your loving presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
