The small, but growing church in Uzbekistan
January 03, 2024
That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. -Colossians 1:10
Uzbekistan is in the top 20 most persecuted nations in the world and among its 61 people groups, 34 remain unreached by the gospel.
Welcome, World Prayer Team. Today we pray our way through central Asia and stop in Uzbekistan to hear from in-country partners who share:
“THRU the BIBLE programs are very effective. We have elderly believers in our church who have difficulty reading the Bible. We also have people who cannot read or are visually impaired. It is a great joy for them, and listening to God’s Word has changed their lives.
“In addition, many new and young believers are afraid to keep the Bible in their houses. For them the program is a wonderful way to stay connected. They learn a lot by listening to God’s Word, and some of them try to tell their relatives about Jesus. Thank you for giving us confidence in God’s Word and helping us expand our reach.”
Today let’s begin our prayers with Colossians 1:10:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your small and growing church in central Asia. We pray You grant each believer wisdom, grace, and spiritual understanding to walk in a manner that is worthy of You. May they grow in grace and bear fruit in every good work You have prepared them to do. As we study Your Word together, help us to increase in wisdom and knowledge of You, and grow in intimacy with our Savior Jesus Christ each day. In His precious name, amen.
We’re praying Psalm 65:11 in southern Europe tomorrow. Join us for the journey.
