Getting out the message of God’s love to the Muslim world
December 28, 2023
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. -1 John 4:18
If there is one thing we’ve learned together as we’ve studied God’s Word, it’s that God deeply loves us. In fact, Dr. McGee often refers to the Bible as God’s love letter to the world. That’s the message a listener in Turkey desperately needed to hear. Here his story:
“I was raised in a strict household that used the religion of our country as a weapon. Ever since I was a child, I have lived with the fear of God … not fear as a reverence or a respect, but a bone-chilling fear. We were taught God is always watching over us, finding fault in everything we do, and making plans to punish us.
“Ultimately my fear hospitalized me. I was on medication for a while. I can’t tell you the idea of God in my head. I was overwhelmingly tired and depressed. I didn’t want to live. I wanted to get out of this world as soon as possible, and I knew that I was going to hell no matter how careful I was. While in the hospital, a psychologist quietly suggested I listen to your programs. I listened secretly for a long time. When I heard of God’s love and sacrifice for us, I was changed. His mercy, His grace is more than I imagined. When I repented and accepted Jesus Christ, I was finally able to rest.”
Many Muslims fear God and wonder whether they are doing enough to please him. The Quran teaches that God is always watching. Muslims hope that when they die, their good deeds will outweigh their bad—and even then, salvation is never assured. Today pray more people in Turkey and throughout the Muslim world hear God’s Word on THRU the BIBLE. As they develop a relationship with Him, may their fears be released when they learn to rest in God’s love.
You, too, are deeply loved by God. Do you need to hear more? Download Dr. McGee’s free digital booklet, “God So Loved.”
Our 2023 prayer journey ends tomorrow. But don’t fret—we’ll start all over again in 2024, praying our way around the world.
