God’s Word is being watered in the deserts of Iraq
September 13, 2023
I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. -1 Corinthians 3:6-9
If you’ve been on the Bible Bus very long, you’ve likely heard our president Gregg Harris talk about Dr. McGee’s simple and biblical mandate to “fling the seed” (God’s Word) as far and wide as possible, and then leave the results to the Lord.
One of the places we’re flinging the seed is in Iraq, where we recently heard from a listener who—like Apollos in 1 Corinthians 3—is watering it among his people. Here’s his story:
“This is such a great ministry. I cannot tell you who I am or where I live in Iraq, but it is hot and dry and your messages are so refreshing. I listen, learn, and teach small groups with the help of your teaching.”
Isn’t that incredible news? In a country where more than 95% of people are Muslim and an astonishing 98% have never heard the gospel, God is answering our prayers and bringing an increase! Today as His Word goes out, let’s thank Him for allowing us to play a part and for the reward of faith He promises each of us as co-laborers.
Tomorrow we’re praying 2 Thessalonians 3:1 through the United Arab Emirates. Your participation is needed!
