When God surprises us
June 23, 2023
“In the middle of all the downright bizarre images and parables in Ezekiel, we get a glimpse of the glory of God. Ezekiel unveils God Himself unlike any other book of the Bible. Revelation has the same kind of unveiling, pointing to Jesus Christ.” -Dr. J. Vernon McGee
As we travel through God’s entire Word, we get a complete picture of who God is, and He speaks to us sometimes in ways we never imagined. That’s what we hear today from Peter in Germany. He shares:
“I have been a loyal listener to your program for a very long time. Programs I have listened to before always bring new insight. I admit I have favorites and sometimes would like to skip certain books, but I continue on through each message. Why do this? I have found God speaks to me when I least expect. Most recently I was surprised by the studies in Ezekiel. Especially the interpretations of Ezekiel 38-39, which touched me strongly and made me awake. I easily ignored these chapters before, and now they have new meaning. I applaud your diligence, and I remain faithful in my pursuit of studying God’s Word.”
Pray today more people in Germany hear God’s Word and faithfully study it with us. Like Peter, may they be surprised how God uses even the most seemingly obscure passages to draw us closer to Him.
