From Austria: “God’s Word is great comfort and company”

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. -Ephesians 2:10

“Life was beginning to feel meaningless. The days ran together, and very little joy was found in them.”

That’s the story we hear from Simon in Austria. He continues:

“I work in elder care. Sometimes I’m in small, hidden villages. Many have only one small church that isn’t open but once a week. I travel often, and while I meet different people, we mostly keep to ourselves. One day a patient had your program playing, and it awakened something within me. I found out more and began to listen on my own. God’s Word makes me feel less lonely and more connected to things and people around me. I feel more alive. My purpose in work and life is more certain. Thank you for these lessons; they are a great comfort and company.”

It's true. God does have a purpose for us, and in Him we can find the fulfillment we long for. Together let’s pray Ephesians 2:10 for all those who hear God’s Word in Austria and around the world:

Father, we are grateful You created us in Your image, for Your purposes, as a part of Your plan. Thank You for this reminder that You prepare us for Your good works and allow us to be used for Your glory. Each day, help us surrender our lives to You. As we study Your Word, may we learn to follow Your direction and use our time, talents, and efforts in ways that please You and bring deep satisfaction to our souls. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
