A message for you from your brother in Iran
May 18, 2023
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. -Ephesians 6:18
There are many brothers and sisters in Christ we’ll never get to meet here on Earth, but as Farid (not his real name) in Iran tells us, our prayers are a gift he does not take for granted:
“Thank God for the blessed existence of you, my dear ones. You have taken great pains to record these great and blessed lessons and leave them at the disposal of God’s people so that they can grow in the depths of the Word and reach spiritual maturity. If I don’t understand a passage, I immediately refer to your lessons. I appreciate your hard work, and I believe that your reward is huge. Your prayers are treasured. They give me daily strength. I love all of you as my family and pray for you to continue in safety and in joyous spirit.”
Today as we pray and praise God for Farid and all His people in Iran, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- All ethnic Persians and those from Muslim backgrounds (even if not practicing) are considered Muslim.
- Anyone who converts to Christianity is declared an apostate and could face death.
- Despite persecution, the number of Muslim background believers coming to Christ is increasing.
Keep praying and meet us tomorrow as we pray our way through Israel.
