Praying for God’s Word as it goes out in Saudi Arabia
May 15, 2023
On previous prayer travels to Saudi Arabia, we’ve learned that as home to the two holiest cities in Islam, Mecca and Medina, Saudi Arabia has one of the world’s worst religious freedom and human rights records.
People of other faiths are forbidden to practice openly, and strict religious laws make it extremely difficult for believers to express their faith. Christian expatriates are heavily monitored by government authorities, and Saudis who follow Jesus face discrimination, imprisonment, abuse, and even death. And yet, God’s church is quietly and secretly growing as listeners like this one hop aboard the Bible Bus with us:
“We are not allowed to fellowship and gather to worship our Almighty God. Our church is your program. I follow you on my smartphone when I have free time. I love everything about it. It is interesting, lovely, educational, and comforting. I wish to support you in anything, including financially. Glory to God. God bless your ministry.”
Keep praying, team! God is answering. Today ask Him to turn what many call the epicenter of Islam into a place where His name is openly and widely praised.
An appetite for God’s Word, that’s what we’re praying for tomorrow as we journey through Oman. We’ll meet you there.
