Prayer prompts for Guadeloupe

Welcome to Guadeloupe. As we travel on our knees through this gorgeous island group in the Caribbean, we find that while Christianity is woven into the culture, it is ritualistic and lacks the depth of true faith in Jesus Christ. The rapid rise of sects and evangelical groups reflect a deep spiritual hunger, while occultism and magic pull many away from the truth. Now more than ever, we need to pray for the Holy Spirit to bring about true repentance, freedom, and transformation in this region. Let’s unite in prayer for the following requests:

• Pray for the spread of the gospel. Pray God’s Word is heard by each man, woman, and child throughout the islands. Pray that many come to a saving relationship with God’s Son, Jesus Christ.
• Pray for spiritual awakening. Ask God to awaken the hearts of the people in Guadeloupe to a genuine relationship with Jesus, beyond cultural or traditional practices. Pray that the Holy Spirit convicts hearts and draws people to a deeper understanding of what it means to believe the gospel.
• Pray for freedom from the occult. Pray against the widespread influence of occultism and magic in Guadeloupe. Ask the Lord to break the spiritual strongholds that bind people and lead them away from Him. Pray for freedom in Christ and protection from these dark practices.
• Pray for the Holy Spirit’s work. Ask the Holy Spirit to move powerfully, bringing conviction of sin and a desire for true repentance. Pray that people will be open to the Spirit’s leading and come to know the truth found in Jesus Christ.
• Pray for discipleship and growth. Pray for strong discipleship programs within the churches. Ask God to raise up leaders who can teach, mentor, and guide new believers toward a mature, exciting faith in Christ.
